When an operation has its own shape, the answer is not to reorganise it around somebody else's software. I come and watch how yours actually runs, then build around what I find.
Built by an operator, not an agency. In daily use inside a 45+ person food factory producing around six million units a year.
If four or more of these are true, the business has outgrown the way it is being run.
Someone has to remember to check something.
One employee knows how an entire process works.
Important information lives in spreadsheets.
Managers spend their day chasing updates.
Staff copy information between systems.
Your software works individually, but not together.
You find out about problems too late.
You have workarounds stacked on workarounds.
The same information gets entered twice.
The owner has become the system connecting everything.
Most of it connects things you already own. Some of it is new.
It depends on what a day on your floor turns up. But it is made from the same parts every time, and they are these.
Between them they cover the whole operation, not just the software end of it. Most of them also replace something you are paying a monthly fee for right now. At Nifty Foods those got replaced one at a time, each one measured.
Everything Noti builds, in plain words → See what Noti can connect →The looking and the shaping is not a step before the work. It is the work.
No two of these come out the same. Those parts being standard and well understood is the point of them, because proven parts are why a build takes weeks instead of a year. What changes from one business to the next is how they fit together, what triggers what, and who gets told.
That shaping is the actual work, and it cannot be done from a brief. It has to be done on your floor.
Sometimes the right answer is a tool you already own, used properly. Sometimes it is something off the shelf. I will tell you when that is the case, because I am paid to solve the problem, not to sell you software.
One size fits no one, so we build it around you.
The approachA paid day on site. Where the work flows, and where it jams up.
The steps that drag, the data typed three times, the questions only you can answer.
Connect what you already run, build the parts nothing covers, or point you at an off-the-shelf tool.
It becomes part of how you work, and I look after it. Built once, cared for.
The money follows the same shape. A day on your floor for $1,000 plus GST, credited in full if you go ahead within six months, then one fixed price to build what the roadmap found, then a simple monthly for hosting and support. No hourly billing, no per-seat licence, no lock-in. How the money works.
What happens on a Discovery day →Real figures from a live build, not a projection.
Nifty Foods, Sydney food manufacturer.
45-plus staff, roughly six million units a year.
Production, stock, dispatch and quality each held their own truth. Nobody could see the whole day without asking three people.
The information existed. It just arrived too late to act on, and only ever in one person's head at a time.
One system reading the operation directly instead of waiting to be told. Machines, sensors, people and records feeding the same place, and one entry updating everything downstream.
More than two years in daily use. Two checkweighers connected directly. Paid tools replaced one at a time, each one measured.
Finding out in time is the entire game.
Case 001Ten years inside a food manufacturer. Eight years running a small food business. Noti came after both.
I'm Patrick. I grew up inside a family food manufacturing business and watched my parents grow it into a nationwide operation. School holidays were spent on the floor and doing deliveries. I have since spent about a decade inside Nifty, across different parts of it, not observing from a boardroom.
Alongside that, my wife and I ran our own food business for eight years. So I have seen both an established operation and the reality of running a small one yourself.
I would rather do three of these properly than ten badly.
Patrick LemonI started building systems because I needed them. Noti came afterwards. You deal with me start to finish, the person who builds it and lives it, not an account manager.
Which is also why it is a few clients at a time, on purpose. It is not a stepping stone to an agency.
More on the background →If a phone call is more than you want to commit to yet.
Describe what the business does and what is slowing it down, in two sentences, and you will get some specific suggestions for what could be systemised.
It is generated from a short description, so it is a taste of the thinking rather than a Systems Roadmap. The real version is a day on your floor. But it costs you nothing and it will tell you whether I am thinking about your operation the right way.
Get a few ideas for your operation →A free chat first, then a paid Discovery day if it makes sense. You keep the roadmap either way. If Noti is not the right fit, I will tell you straight.
