Noti Custom / What I build
Noti Custom

When the standard platform stops being enough.

Most businesses never need this page. The Noti platform already covers the shape of work that almost every business shares. This is about the parts of an operation that will not fit that shape, and should not be forced into it.

Where the line is

Custom is not a different company. It is the same system, taken further.

Custom starts where the platform stops, not from nothing.

The platform is the foundation: customers, jobs, quotes, invoices, stock, the calendar, the people. A Custom build keeps all of that and goes past it, into the part of your operation that is genuinely yours.

Which means the honest first question is not "what could you build me?" It is "is there anything here the standard system cannot already do?" Often there is not, and I will tell you that. When there is, it is usually one of the six below.

Six kinds of not fitting

The shapes standard software keeps running into.

None of these are industries. They are shapes, and a business of any size can have one of them sitting in the middle of an otherwise ordinary operation.

All six are running today in a Sydney food manufacturer: 45-plus staff, around six million units a year, more than two years in daily use. Two check weighers from different manufacturers feed the same system, and one of them has no software available from its supplier at all. The full report.

Opened up

One of the six, all the way through.

Paper does not have to be abolished to be useful.

A fitter fills in a service docket by hand, because that is what works with oily gloves on at the back of a machine. It then sits in a folder, and the fact that this machine has failed the same way three times this year is known to nobody.

RUNNING AT NIFTY
Operator photographs the docket→Read across every page as one document→Jobs and parts linked→Machine health event fired→The pattern surfaces across months→An admin marks it resolved

Handled automatically

The pages are read as a single docket, not as separate images, so a job number on page one and a parts list on page two end up on the same record. What comes out is structured: linked jobs, components, and a machine-health event that adds to the history.

Where a person comes back in

An admin can mark a pattern resolved, so a problem that has genuinely been fixed stops shouting. Nothing is closed off automatically.

Nobody had to stop using paper, buy tablets, or be trained on anything. The docket is the same docket.

The honest part

What this is not.

Most of what a business needs is not this.

A Custom build is a real project with a real price, and it earns that when the alternative is a person spending their week being the wiring between two systems. It does not earn it when the standard platform would have done the job.

So the first step is a day on your floor working out which of those two you are, and you own what comes out of that day either way. How the engagement works, and what it costs.

What happens to the tools you already run →
Ready when you are

Not sure which side of the line you are on?

That is what the Discovery day is for. A day on your floor, then a written roadmap that says plainly which parts the standard platform already covers, and which ones are genuinely worth building.
